USMC Commandant, General Hagee and Captain Chontosh, Navy Cross Recipient...Operation Iraqi Freedom.

I gotta put this here now, will probably move it later;

Meet Sgt. Eddie Ryan....Scout/Sniper...USMC

Eddie Ryan, Eddie was actually shot through his scope so they say whoever shot him he had his scope on as well, another bullet entered below his chin.

Eddie Ryan lies near death, being transfered to Bethesda Naval Hospital. Doctors say it's a miracle Eddie has made it this far, his Mother has another take on it...she said he is a Marine and they don't come any tougher than that so she know he will be all right!

I'll go along with Eddie's Mom! When I have Eddie's unit and flick, if possible, I'll put it up...till then hold a 'good thought' for Eddie.

Last update on Eddie was 04May05, he is still making a strong recovery. Hang in there Eddie!

New update on Eddie: 11Jun05 Eddie was moved to Richmond Va. and improving, he has even spoken words. Eddie is fighting the good fight and thanks all who are praying for him. Semper Fidelis Marine!

06Mar06: I just had the honor and privilege to speak with Eddie's Father, Mr. Ryan told me of Eddie's continued improvement, his memory is returning and re-hab is progressing really well. Eddie and his Family wish to thank all for the prayers and good wishes in helping his recovery, and a special thanks to Sgt. Shaffer who was first on the scene to give Eddie the chance to survive. Eddie's re-hab for now is being done at Helen Hayes Hospital in Rockland, New York...he'll be returning home to continue as soon as suitable additions are completed on the family home...GodSpeed and Semper Fidelis Eddie!

To all the Wives, Girl Friends even ex-wives who support their Warriors; I'd like to recognize and acknowlege you for standing by your Warrior.

I've thought about this for quite a spell now...should have done this years ago, no reason for my laxness nor an excuse. It is way past due to address this and thank my First wife for all she's done for me since my return from the Nam....I recently had the honor of having lunch with JoAnn and my sister....at that time, I was given a box of letters JoAnn had kept since I was in Boot in '64 right up to when we no longer needed the USPS to correspond...these letters were to be used to help me piece my Nam Time together...what they did in reality was shoe me how I had mistreated the woman who was giving me total, unconditional love....it's extremely difficult to read these letters, knowing what I did and how I was after marrying JoAnn...to You, I offer my deepest, most heartfelt apology and wish you all the happiness the good Lord can bestow on such a deserving person.

Notice the two roadwheel assemblies missing on the starboard side...was a common occurance. I believe this photo was taken in the Hill 55 area.

The ever hazardous 'water crossing', channeled areas such as these were a favorite of the VC to plant mines...an unexploded 155 round, triggered would ruin your day for sure.

Heading out from what looks like either 3/1 or 1/1 Bn area. 3/1 was just south of Marble Mountain, on the N.W. area of the desert...1/1 was on the S.E. area of the desert by HoiAn on the coast.  '66-'67

Unique to 1st Plt AlphaCo 1st Tracs, were the fangs and eyes painted across the ramp and bow corners...I recieved this flick from Bill Stevenson, Boot Camp Bro, area looks to be 3/1 south of Marble Mountain, north of the Desert...just east of the Arizona.

Every AmTracker knows their mission is to support Grunts...the total Mission of The Marine Corps is to eliminate 'un-frendlies', the Grunt does this with great efficiency. Therefore all Marine units work as one to support the Grunts. The one pictured above is special to me personally, I've heard his voice, know his Father, a USMC VietNam Vet...he is one of our finest, a SAW gunner with India 3/1...a storied Infantry Bn. Respecting his privacy, I'll not give his name until this fine young Warrior returns from Iraq to his Family, I'm planning on being there, in California when he returns and hoping he honors me with a firm handshake and, dammit, a hug.

GodSpeed 'Brother' and Semper Fidelis.
